A Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, to give the work its full title, was the first, and the most popular, of Dickens’s series of Christmas books. Part of the Routledge’s Pocket Library, the binding of this delightful small volume is decorated with holly leaves and berries. The frontispiece illustration is by John Leech (1817-1864), an English caricaturist and illustrator.
